About Flash Hints
Hi and welcome to Flash Hints. My name is Paul Reilly and I am a web developer and content creator. I created this blog to discuss neat concepts in Flash development that I come across through my work.
I went to school for a degree in computer science and started consulting right out of college. I started out doing simple websites for local lawyers and realtors, etc. but have since taken on very exciting work for companies of all sizes. Most of my day to day is spent coding php, html and javascript but more and more flash work is making it into my routine.
I first started Flash development about 3 years ago and it certainly took me awhile to adjust to timeline based design and development. I have since honed my skills though and have done work for many high profile clients, including major recording artists and major movie studios.
Being classically trained as a programmer but having a slightly ‘better than the average geek’ artistic sense, I’ve been fairly successful in the flash medium so far. I have really enjoyed discovering ways to do great things and rely heavily on actionscript and communication with html and the DOM. I decided to start this blog as a way to document for all the techniques I discover.
I hope you find useful tips here and if you know of different or better ways to do things, please leave a comment!
Thanks and enjoy.
